Reviews
Service was a little slow, they seemed understaffed but everyone was very nice. Word of warning, the Sunday roast is only served at lunchtime. This is not specified on the menu or website. I got the ribs instead which were quite good. The sticky toffee pudding was a little dry but had good flavor. The truffle Mac was too strong for my liking.
The atmosphere was great and service fast. There is a very good selection of burgers and steaks, and costs feel reasonable.
The place was very charming. It was at first quiet, but filled very quickly for a wednesday evening! I would recommend to book in advance just in case...
On different evenings they can have different offers. We were lucky to go on the Wednesday burger! 🍔
Very good selection of cocktails and wine if needed too.
Also the deserts looked fantastic! My only regret; no pressure beers...
Overall an unpleasant experience - you’re better off going to the tapas restaurant down the road.
In terms of service - the lead “waiter” was awful, continuously marching around the table which was disruptive and shook the floor around us. He had a very rude manner and when the food finally arrived (after another party who ordered later than us), he handed one of our group a burning hot plate. He was lucky not to be injured or to drop the plate. Second waiter was better, but refused to acknowledge the temperature was too high, despite sweating profusely.
The food - average, small portions and some parts were overcooked and some undercooked. No beers on tap. Would not recommend for a Sunday roast. Calamari was nice.
Atmosphere - Bar temperature far too hot, no air con despite it being a hot and humid day. Ruined by the service. 1 star is too high.
Positives - The only highlight was leaving and getting into the fresh air. We won’t be coming back.
Very good meat restaurant - the steaks were excellent (although were you to order the fillet, be prepared for it to be on the small side…). Very good drinks menu too, while the set menu is a definite bargain compared to the a la carte. The service was cheerful and enthusiastic - but they needed at least one more person on the restaurant floor, as the two ladies on duty when we visited struggled (gloriously) to keep up.
Nice local steakhouse. Ideal if you don’t want to go into high footfall parts of London. Staff were nice, and accommodating. The sirloin steak was cooked perfectly. Side slaw was good too. Loved the Roxie Spritz cocktail - super refreshing. Cute for a date - it’s very small, and intimate. The only downside was minor - I’d much prefer a steak on a plate, than a serving board.
Great neighbourhood steakhouse, offering good quality beef served in unique and tasty ways. Fully recommend the Argentinian stack burger - double the size I expected, packed with flavour and quality. Drinks also excellent.
Been meaning to write this for a while but never got around to it. Some things may be a little out of date.
The first thing to note was that the knives were not sharp enough to cut the steak. We were there in the summer and they told us that the knives would be sharpened several months later. It was very difficult to enjoy the meal whilst fighting with the steak.
They were quite busy and it was very difficult to get the attention of the serving staff although most were very nice once you did get them.
Overall could have been a lot better 😅
Spent about a week in London and this was the best meal I had in the city. Got the rib eye with fries and a side of the truffled mac n cheese. Also, a cider to drink.
They were all really good and better meat than everywhere else I got in London. Priced are standard for steakhouses in the city, and definitely not a tourist trap.
We were also greeted and served by Daga, who was super friendly and made our stay more enjoyable. Definitely recommend it.
